DDB Latvia Receives Silver Drum at Prestigious “Golden Drum” Festival
It’s so wonderful that there are still opportunities in this life of ours to experience something for the first day. DDB Latvia celebrated its birthday two month ago, and we wondered what we had not experienced during the course of our 21 years. Then we went to the prestigious European “Golden Drum” festival, however, as the only ones from the Baltic States and came away with a Silver Drum award for our Samsung Electronic Baltics “Single Socks” project, which we developed in partnership with “Cube.”

“Single Socks” is a portal on which single socks can meet one another. The idea is based on the traditional fact that socks get lost. This has been discussed on social networks for years. Even if there is no clear answer to the question, then there is good news – the new AddWash washing machine from Samsung makes it possible to add small pieces of apparel to the machine without stopping it, and that means that no more socks will be lost. Those which have lost their partner even before AddWash went on the market can look for a friend on the “Single Socks” portal. To delight not just socks, but their wearers, the project also allowed people to win a new washing machine in all three Baltic States.
This was the 23rd “Golden Drum” festival, and this year it moved from the small town of Portorož to the Slovenian capital city of Ljubljana. The 15 Grand Prix from the exhibition can be seen here, and there were 42 Golden Drums and 72 Silver Drums. More than 1,200 applications were sent in from 26 countries.
