The most famous marathon in the history of Latvian

It's been a month since Nordea Riga Marathon. Now looking back we can assure that this has been the most remarkable marathon in the history of Latvia! And not only with the record number of participants – this year more than 23 000 running enthusiasts and professionals lined the routes of Nordea Riga Marathon -, but also a magnificent programme along the routes emphasizing the Brivibas Street’s kilometre of culture.
Nordea Riga Marathon is a running festival, which anytime soon will be compared to the Latvian Song Festival. Even the famous choirmaster Ints Teterovskis led the choir and the runners in the long distances, as well as at the start of 5 and 10 km and the track side next to the National Theatre. The runners sang mightily, "Liku bēdu zemakmeņa, pāri skrēju dziedādams."
Singing while running is the marathon’s key of communications – visuals and the app as well as a cooperation with Radio 5, creating a special music section for the marathon “Five Marathons”. Next year we will keep the cultural theme, because Latvians are the nation of culture and there is no marathon based on culture! See you next time on 17th May 2015 but until then enjoy the video which recollects memories of the marathon.
