The White Shirts of Hockey Fans

Latvian fans have been stably known in the global community of ice hockey for several decades now.

Latvijas Mobilais Telefons wanted to help this year in beating other countries on the ice and in the stands, offering ten attractive fans from Latvia to raise the bar on fandom in Cologne.
During a few days, several dozen groups of friends applied for the competition, and the two that were selected were ready to demonstrate their dancing potential together with choreographer Ģirts Bisenieks.

As is appropriate for a celebration, everyone wore white shirts!
On the afternoon of May 4, buzzing with enthusiasm, we set out for Cologne. Waze told us that we would be on the road for some 20 hours. Trying to beat that time, we took our first team picture only in Poland.
May 6, 12:15 PM: The Latvian team’s first game against Denmark. The energy of our fans quickly turns them into beloved figures in the arena – dancing in the stands, conversations and photographs in the halls of the arena, songs outside the arena after the first win in this championship.

The emotions gained during the first game expanded during the next ones, with the scenario remaining the same on the ice and in the stands. Known as the White Shirts, Latvia’s fans delighted fans in the arena, in the streets of Cologne, and in Latvia.

And finally, the historically successful start to the tournament was celebrated at Four White Shirts in Cologne together with Normunds Jakušonoks.
This year the World Championship really was a hockey festival!
