Annual design award received by DDB for TEDxRiga’s visual identity

We’d like to share our delight – we have yet more confirmation that DDB Latvia creates outstanding and captivating works. This time, fame and glory go to our colleague Dmitrijs Pavlovs, a.k.a. Zagga, whose identity for the TEDxRiga conference won 1st place in the Latvian Designers’ Associations traditional competition: Annual Design Awards 2013 in the Graphic identity category!

Interestingly, three of the four works that made to the final of the Graphic identity category were created by DDB Latvia – The Red Jackets and LMT new identity, as well as TEDxRiga which won the main award. In turn, the final of the Printed media was graced by our Icebreaker and TEDxRiga.

TEDxRiga’s graphic identity is based on the idea of four elements: air, fire, water and earth, which, according to ancient beliefs, determine not only all the processes in nature, but also those in the human body and spirit. They are our source of energy, help us to create ideas and achieve great objectives.

Each of us has our own leading element. For one person, it’s airy flight of thought, for someone else it’s the passion and captivation of fire, while for another person it’s the flowing movement and creative energy of water or the permanence of the earth and the power of traditions. When we asked what the author’s own leading element is, he unhestitatingly replied – unquestionably water!
