Ķirsons: The First Latvian Take Away Restaurant

Ķirsons: The First Latvian Take Away Restaurant

Imants Ziedonis said long ago that “times are changing, times are collapsing, and there’s not much time left,”* but Gunārs Ķirsons says that principles must remain in place, at least in terms of food. For that reason, he is moving along with the times and offering the first Latvian take away restaurant so that those who are in a hurry and need to save time can enjoy healthy and proper Latvian food, as opposed to accustomed fast food.

To emphasise this thought, we created a series of posters to clearly show that the tomatoes that Ķirsons quickly puts into a sandwich are carefully grown in a greenhouse, the hot food that we eat in a park is properly prepared on a stove, and the lunchbox for families is one that can be served at the family table without any shame.

We worked with Nords Porter Novelli to organise an opening event with a fashion show of the new packaging so as to attract public attention to the important fact that this is the first time that we have a modern and convenient Latvian take away restaurant. Because Ķirsons has always been a pioneer in Latvia cuisine and has vast experience and unquestioned quality, we created his image and basic operating principles to bring into Latvian folklore. It is said that readers of those texts smile and nod.

The results? The best that there can be in the dining business – long queues at the new Ķirsons restaurant in Galleria Rīga each and every day.
