Sceptics or singers - who are we in Europe?

Latvia is part of Europe. Nobody doubts this anymore. However, studies show that we are one of the countries whose population is most dissatisfied with membership of the European Union.

At the request of the European Commission’s representative office in Latvia, we searched for the roots of this dissatisfaction and discovered that we haven’t clarified our own identity. To find out exactly what we are in Europe, we created a voting platform:draugiem.lv/esmaja. Currently, the insight that we are Europe’s resonant voice has received the most votes. Regardless of the voting results, it is evident that we need a dialogue about what we are. To date, more than 50,000 people have already taken part in it. From now on, with the help of TVCs and broadcasts, eminent Latvian personalities with work and life experience outside Latvia will take part in the dialogue along with people from other European countries that have chosen Latvia as the country in which to fulfil their dreams.
