Starmetis illuminates the best short film

Latvia has been enriched by three short films! A real end of summer red carpet ceremony at the "Cinamon" cinema marked the conclusion of the first "Starmetis" short film festival. Its creators and organisers: S/c Alfa in collaboration with DDB Latvia - lauded the three best short films, whose makers - Latvia’s young film talents - have announced themselves as potential candidates to receive major film awards in the future.
Of the 49 scripts submitted, the laurels of victory at "Starmetis" were plucked by young director Madara Didrihsone, who received the Grand Prix title for her brainchild - a short film entitled "Dezinsektors", as well as the support of S/c Alfa in entering international short film festivals. The works of the three finalists could be viewed at the "Cinamon" cinema, as well as on Channel 2.
The Managing Director S/c Alfa Zigmunds Vīķis is delighted by the result and admits that, having observed the passion and level of professionalism of the participants, it is clear that the festival will also take place next year. We, at DDB Latvia, are also thrilled that Latvian cinema has been enriched by three outstanding short films!
