The 27th Champion Breakfast, the mojo brand, negativity and Latvian posters

The 27th Champion Breakfast, the mojo brand, negativity and Latvian posters

This spring’s Champion Breakfast was held on the 11th floor of the Latvian National Library with a lovely view of the Daugava River. Chef Andris Rubīns served three exciting stories about important news and eternal values for breakfast.

First up was a strategic planner from DDB Consulting, Reinholds Pīrāgs, who discussed important trends in the marketing of the mojo brand. It turns out that this deals with national, global and technologically smart approaches toward various needs, making it possible to transfer virtual experience that is known as “I want what I want when I want it” and exists in the socially grey zone.

The second course involved author, financial consultant and blogger Toms Kreicbergs (tomskreicbergs.lv), who discussed how to focus public attention if you don’t want to yell, moan or spread fake news. “Things that are surprising, simplified and based on a single emotional note will always beat emotional narcotics,” he declared.

For desert we enjoyed a collection of posters that are part of the collection at the National Library. The curator of the collection, Raits Lubinskis talked about Latvian posters yesterday and today. The collection makes it possible to track the main trends of poster design in Latvia over more than 100 years. This was a colourful story in terms of its content and the way in which it was presented.

Photographs from the 27th Champion’s Breakfast can be found here. We look forward to the next Champion Breakfast this summer!
