Champions breakfast No.14: View of the Future

This year’s Breakfast for Champions brought along a lot of our curious friends occupied in the fields of Marketing and Economics. The 14th edition of the event allowed participants to gain a particular insight of what 2014 will put on the plate.

First speaker - Andris Strazds, the Chief Economist of Nordea Bank, - provided a juicy insight into widespread tendencies of the current economic climate: the cross-border movements of citizens and the decision making processes in Latvia, EU and global scale in general. Presentation & video

Mr Strazds’ talk was followed by DDB Consulting Strategic Planner Artis Krilovs, who introduced audience with the extremely useful Marketing Crib Sheet 2014 to ease the transformation process and encourage innovation. The ideas revolved around such trendy themes as ‘sharing economy’, ‘seamless shopping’, ‘betterment’ and ‘connected experiences’. And by the way, one of the case studies was our own native Latvian! As for dessert, tables were turned from the serious starter and the fulfilling main to an entertaining interactive speech by Janis Skutelis - a well-known stand-up comedian & Improvisation Theatre performer. Audience was challenged to find out whether humor armors or disarms you. Surprisingly, it turns out that it does both! Video
