Christmas Tree Appreciation
Every year we recite the same, boring poems. What we don’t realise is that our Christmas tree, like our stoic hockey coach Znarok, actually has feelings. And each year our tree gets all spruced up, ready to hear something tree-mendously beautiful and original. But is this wish ever fulfilled? Birch, please!

In this year’s LMT campaign we realised that the only thing that’s faulty is our poetry reciting technique. It’s old and rusty. Therefore, it’s finally time to do something about it.

Together with LMT we continued our 4-year tradition of creating content that spreads festive joy while being thoroughly entertaining. This year we devised the ‘Christmas Tree’ campaign, based on the Latvian tradition of reciting poems in exchange for gifts. To suit our tech-savvy client we looked for new, innovative ideas that could be incorporated into our performances, so that our Christmas tree would feel appreciated, rather than hang its pines down in shame. Of course, to achieve this we also needed the best host possible. And who better than golden boy Zeltiņš (his name literally translates to ‘little gold’). Renārs was joined by Dināra Rudāne, Ralfs Eilands, Fredis, Aisha, Edavārdi, Andris Bulis and others, thus creating ‘Christmas Tree with Zeltiņš’. You can have a peak behind the scenes here.

Gifts worthy of our Christmas tree were showcased on TV and via out-of-home advertising. In order to receive them, a creative poem had to be recited.

It is said that Christmas gifts should not be judged, only appreciated. And no one would appreciate our gifts and performances more than our Christmas tree. This year, let’s make sure our tree’s tinsels don’t get in a tangle and that it’s a night of celebration our tree never fir-gets.
