NEW STRENGTH FOR THE TOP LIST OF INFLUENTIAL BRANDS

The list of the most influential brands in social media has existed for three years, allowing brand managers to track their brands on Facebook, Twitter, Draugiem.lv and Instagram. The measuring mechanism is the number of people who have interacted with the brand each month by clicking “Like,” “Follow,” etc.
This year there were several major improvements to the list of the most influential brands in social media so that the list became more effective, also allowing marketing people to have a better sense of the return from their activities in the social media:
- There is a separate list for media outlets that basically work on creating new content;
- The overall evaluation is important, with a higher position for those brands that involve people simultaneously in several social media outlets;
- The list no longer includes “aggregators,” or pages that republish content, as opposed to creating new content.
The new approach is being tested during the first quarter of 2015, and there should be other improvements to the structure and functionality of the list. We ask experts from the sector, as well as brand managers to become involved in improving the list with their ideas and as partners.
