RENĀRS LIEPIŅŠ BECOMES CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF DDB HUB

You can buy a tomato at a supermarket or grow one yourself. To be sure, the one that you grow at home will be much tastier and more nutritious. We bow deeply and with much pride in presenting the new DDB Hub creative director, Renārs Liepiņš, to you. If you think that we are comparing our employees to tomatoes, you’re right! That’s what families do, and no one becomes offended.

Renārs has worked for DDB since almost his first day in the industry, working with LMT, Balta, Statoil, VW, Dinamo Rīga and other DDB clients. The shelf on which he keeps his awards is groaning under the weight of the Bronze Lion from Cannes at the middle, as well as the Grand Prix from the Adwards competition for his “Velofenders” competition.

During the past six years, Renārs spent some time in California, where he worked for the Mistress Creative agency and worked with brands such as Hot Wheels, Hampton Hotels, Jägermeister and NOS Energy. Perhaps he is the only Latvian whose work has been displayed on billboards in New York and at least 20 other cities in America. When he came home, he was more digital and better than he had been before he left.

“The world is undergoing digitalisation, and those who feel comfortable in that world are great beneficiaries,” says Renārs. “We must never forget, however, that a person stands behind every gadget or solution – a person who must understand the gadget or solution to use it. I believe that the most important thing is to preserve humanity and nice lightness in everything that we call digital.”
