SSE graduates have become the most active donors in Europe
We already wrote about a unique donation platform: http://donate.alumni.lv which was born with the support of DDB Latvia. On the site, graduates of the Stockholm School of Economics and other interested parties were invited to taking part in a worthy donation competition - each donation received was visualized, publicly depicting the breakdown of relative donation amounts according to graduation years, countries and individual donors.
The goal of the platform’s creators was to increase the number of donating graduates from 11% to 25%. During the campaign, the campaign’s organisers succeeded in addressing 33% of former SSE students, which is the all time best result for SSE Riga and is currently also the best result in Europe. Full disclosure here.
A total of EUR 92,000 was donated which will be used to award student grants and support the renovation of the university’s auditorium. It should be noted that grants are awarded to those SSE students whose families are in financial difficulties, not those who have the best marks.
Donating is important, because the world’s most prestigious universities are judged according to how active supporters their graduates are. It’s a trustworthy indicator that testifies to graduates’ appreciation of the education they have received.
With this unique platform and positive competition, SSE’s graduates have even succeeded in overtaking the activity indicators of the most prestigious universities in Europe, which is a good signal for students - it’s possible to receive a high quality education here in Latvia regardless for your financial circumstances.
